Costello Can't Sleep Mix
It seems that lots of travel this year, the cumulative toxic effects of recent alcohol splurges and months of personal stresses have finally taken their toll on Donnacha Costello, robbing his ability to sleep. So, after an almost entirely sleepless night, he decided at 5am this morning to get up and record this 45 minute mix. Donnacha comments: what interests me most are some of the connections my sleep deprived/stressed brain made between some of the records in my collection, some old favourites some recent. It's a little rough and ready but I just thought I'd share it anyway. Not only has he recorded/mastered/uploaded this mix just this morning but has also provided a handy tracklisting including catalogue numbers and the year of release. Anders Ilar currently lives in Göteborg on the swedish westcoast. He was born in december 1973 and grew up in Ludvika, a little town surrounded by deep woods and lakes. He started playing piano when he was six years old but soon lost interest after he started taking lessons. Instead he took an interest in electronic music and spent most of his time making music with synthezisers, sequensers and drummachines. During the late 80's and 90's he was involved in several projects with friends and he released several demotapes in very limited editions. He also played live at local parties. By 1997 he was bored with making music and decided to get rid off his machinery and quit. Instead he focused on deejaying and buying records. In 1999/2000 he started his recordlabel pinesky (wich so far only did one release) and started producing music again. This time with a computer as only instrument. Anders Ilar's first 12" was released under the his Rend moniker on Cologne based label Plong!. Later he got in contact with Shitkatapult and was convinced to release under his real name. Czechtek es un festival internacional y multicultural al aire libre de música con una tradición de 12 años. Conviven diversos géneros de la música, además de videoarte y otros manifestaciones artisticas en este acontecimiento único de la cultura libre. En toda la historia del festival no había habido daños o problemas significativos. El contrato con el dueño del terreno fue demostrado claramente al policía. No hay indicacion que el festival fuera ilegal, cada aspecto era según ley de la república checa.
La policía indicó la prohibición de acceder al recinto del festival a partir del 29 viernes por varias razones, todas demostradas más adelante como mentiras o simple desinformación. La razón final alegada era la "amenaza de dañar los sitios privados circundantes de tierra", es decir, las tierras colindantes al recinto del festival.
La presencia en tierra circundantes de los asistentes al evento fue causada por la obstrucción de la policía de todos los caminos y vías. La mujerpropietaria de las tierras colindantes, dijo que había sido despertada por la mañana del viernes por la policía, mucho antes que la gente comenzase a llegar. Fue llevada a la comisaría de policía y obligada a firmar una queja.
La mayoría de la gente no oyó ninguna súplica para salir del lugar por parte de la policia. Muchos de ellos habían bebido y no podrían salir con los coches. Otros creyeron que participar en un festival legalmente organizado no podrian ser apuntados por la policía. La primera acción de la policía fue el sábado 30, y se inicio a las 16:30PM. Duró varias horas y fue mal coordinada . En el lugar había 1000 policías, un cañón de agua, un tanque armado y el helicóptero de bajo-vuelo.
El segundo ataque se realizo de noche (22PM) y se llevo a cabo con brutalidad extrema. La policía rehusó dar información sobre sus acciones y motivos, y tampoco dar la localización de los primeros auxilios. La policía utilizó cantidades masivas de granadas del gas lacrimógeno y de desorientation. En muchos casos lanzó las granada de gas lacrimógeno en el interior de coches y dejó a la gente dentro por tiempo largo sin ayudarles a salir. En otros casos policia rompió las ventanas de los coche con barras del hierro, lanzando las granadas dentro y forzando a la gente a salir. Batieron a toda la gente para arriba, incluyendo muchachas adolescentes, que gritaron de dolor. Los testigos describieron un ataque contra una muchacha que estaba sola, la cual fue tirada hacia abajo por su pelo y golpeada con el pie en el suelo por cuatro policías. Había centenares de lesiones, incluyendo cortes, contusiones, quemaduras, brazos rotos, etc. Mucha gente seguía en estado de shock al día siguiente por la tarde con las caras rojas debido al gas lacrimógeno. La policía dañó intencionalmente los coches, los equipos electrónicos y otras cosas. El ataque fue conducido con la intención clara de causar lesiones. Forzaron a la gente ir a la carretera cercana, que fue cerrada varias horas y entonces permitieron avanzar a los carros que esperaban,entre la gente desorientada. La policía confirmó la muerte de un joven que asistia al festival. El motivo de esta muerte fue manipulada por la policía. Ningún testigo fue encontrado para confirmar la declaración del policía.
La televisión del estado no informó del ataque nocturno, repitiendo principalmente las declaraciones de la policía. La TV checa en sus noticias también restó valor político a lo sucedido y a la llamada popular de libertad y de la petición de dimisión del ministro del interior, en las manifestaciones del domingo en Praga.
Esto es una llamada a los medios cercanos para publicar esta información, sobre la brutalidad policial y el incumplimiento de los derechos democráticos más básicos en la república checa.
