En septiembre sleeparchive vuelve a la carga con este nuevo 12", titulado INFRARED GLOW, del cual podeis disfrutar de unos samples de muestra:

De momento en Barcelona no tiene ninguna actuación programada, y por lo tanto nos tendremos que conformar con este adelanto, y con un par de remixes que esta preparando y que de muy seguro darán que hablar. Uno de ellos es un remix para Regis el cual saldrá este mismo mes en el label de Nueva York, Infrastructure.

GRIME

En los foros de ClubbingSpain se ha abierto un post relativo al Grime / Dubstep / Sublow, el cual espero que a la larga pueda arrojar luz sobre este poco conocido estilo musical.

Grime is musical offshoot of the early 21st century UK Garage scene that developed in London's East End between 2002-2004. In contrast to its more soulful progenitor, Grime can often be dark and aggressive, featuring MCs as opposed to singers and jettisoning the R&B influences that enabled UK Garage to earn mainstream radio support. In contrast, the success of Grime is inseperable from its connection with Pirate radio, with many performers honing their skills and achieving underground success before approaching the mainstream. Grime has roots in both hip-hop and electronic music and is characterised by rapid and rhythmic rhyming over sparse break beats, futuristic bleeps and guttural bass growls. Perhaps due to its experimental nature and diverse stylistic influences, Grime resisted attempts to classify or pigeon-hole it for a long time, but in the past has also gone by the names sublow, 8bar or eskibeat.

Una forma de introducirse en estos sonidos es mediante el recopilatorio publicado por Rephlex, Rephlex presents GRIME, en la contraportada del cual aparece el siguiente texto:

Recién estrenado su primer Trapez, Swat-Squad continúa con su andadura por los sellos Europeos, esta vez será en el conocidísimo sello de Colonia Treibstoff, la novedad es que esta primera referencia viene co-producida por Alecs Marta, capo de Concuerda y creador de lunática junto a Jaumëtic y Swat-Squad.
"Marciano Homeless" es el título del disco y estará formado por 2 tracks de Minimal-Tech-House Funkoide (por catalogar) que harán las delicias de los más pisteros. La fecha de salida se sitúa entorno a Septiembre aproximadamente.

Con esta referencia empieza una nueva serie de 12" donde tendrán cabida tanto artistas del propio sello como artistas invitados, para dar un enfoque mucho mas oscuro y contundente a los sonidos a los que nos tiene acostumbrados REGULAR, y como no podia ser de otra manera, la inicia el capo del label, Jaumëtic. Espero y deseo que esta serie sea como algo parecido a la serie SPEICHER de Kompakt, mostrando y confirmando la madurez de REGULAR como sello de referencia.

Así describe el propio Adam Beyer a su nuevo sello, MAD EYE. Es aquí donde Beyer está dando forma a sonidos mas cercanos al 'minimal' junto con arreglos mucho más melodicos de lo que nos tiene acostumbrados, pero nunca sin olvidar la pista de baile. Prueba de ello son las 4 referencias publicadas hasta la fecha. Damos una muestra de ello con la 4ª, "So bizarre".

Vaya descubrimiento han hecho BOXER con esta pareja italiana...

Para mi "duoteque" es el tema mas matador del ep y va a sonar fijo todo este veranito. Los temas "n-intendo" y "blick" le siguen de cerca, con un rollo entre misc., robag wruhme y kiko. Quizas el que suene mas diferente al resto, se a "lola" con esa voz femenina, y esas melodias mucho mas envolventes y esos ritmos mas lentos...

este cae fijo! XD

p.d: piel de gallina cuando empieza el primer cambio en "duoteque" pfffffffffffffffff temon!!!

[wag 002] Mathew Jonson - Marionette

Segunda referencia del sello Wagon Repair, el que será el nuevo laboratorio del mago de Vancouver, que a cada nuevo 12" no hace más que confirmar lo que ya se intuía hace tiempo. Mathew Jonson se ha convertido por meritos propios en una referencia mundial. Su maxis en IIWII como Typerope, Love letter To The Enemy o el Decompression en Minus son una prueba clara de ello.

sleeparchive - research ep

En cuanto pueda me haré con este nuevo ep de Sleeparchive, que por los samples que he escuchado en su web, promete tanto o más que los anteriores ep's. Cosa difícil, porque para mi el Recycle ep, es de lo mejor que he sentido en todo el año pasado...lo que me costó encontrarlo por BCN!
Factura un minimal techno entre plastikman y basic channel, por tanto, nada más que decir...esto ya es un nuevo clasico! Espero que Stephan Metzger esté presente en el SONAR de día...

Este es sin duda el descubrimiento de finales del pasado año y ahora, tras 3 ep firma este album que sorprende y de qué manera! Su sonido se mueve entre el minimal y el techno, pero sin descuidar las melodias. Varios cortes del LP podrían perfectamente ser obra de Matthew Jonson, Robag Wruhme o el mismisimo Villalobos de Perlon. Prueba de ello son temas como '6am', 'Brian's Lung' o 'Recess'. Para los despistados también aparecen en este LP 2 cortes que daban titulo a sus 2 ep's anteriores: 'Chicca Wappa' [soma 161], 'Don't see the point' [soma 165]. Comentar además los 2 eps para VAKANT, que por su calidad tambíen darian para otro album. Ahí queda eso! Imprescindible.
